Ayrshire New Zealand are holding a Young Breeders Seminar for the farmers of tomorrow. The Seminar is held over three jam packed days of activities, herd walks, workshops and more. If you’re interested in farming, breeding, Ayrshires or simply meeting other young farmers then come along to this years Young Breeders Seminar.

The Ayrshire Young Breeders Seminar will take place in Golden Bay from Friday 8 – Monday 11 April 2022

Friday 8th April

  • Pickup in Nelson for those flying (please arrive by 1pm, anyone driving can meet in Richmond)
  • Lunch in Richmond (get to know each other)
  • Drive to Collingwood (2.5hrs)
  • Settle in to Accommodation
  • BBQ  Dinner at Riverlea Ayrshires

Saturday 9th April

  • Morning- TOP or Progeny at Riverlea Ayrshires
  • Riverlea’s Rakopi run-off visit (picnic lunch at bach)
  • Afternoon – Golden Bay Dolomite Visit and Talk with Merv Solly (tbc)
  • Dinner at Mussel Inn

Sunday 10th April

  • Morning – Herd Walk (farm tbc)
  • Lunch– Fishing at Anatoki Salmon
  • Afternoon- Wayne Langford Talk (Yolo Farmer, Meat the Need), farm walk at Wayne Langford’s
  • Spare time to explore Takaka, visit beaches etc
  • Fish & Chips for Dinner

Monday 11th April

  • Travel back to Nelson
  • Depending on timing we may fit an activity in before everyone heads home – Ngarua Caves on Takaka Hill

Please note that with the current RED Covid Alert Level, the Accommodation we have booked requires vaccine passes but we do have a couple of other options for those that are unvaccinated.  Please email if you have any questions , We are happy for anyone to join us no matter what their vaccine status but it will mean that they will potentially be unable to participate in some activities and will be unable to dine in any Cafes/Restaurants.  We will try our best to make sure everyone is included.

$95.00 per person registration including accommodation.  Food & drink at your own expense.
